Lacock half marathon 10th June 2019

The half marathon came and went without much ado .. still tired from the previous weekends running at runfestrun I turned up at Lacock totally unprepared for this mainly off road three lap race, set in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside. The startline was typical relish style sat in the middle of a field with all the tents and facilities set around the field, leading out onto the country roads around the village.
Head on into the first slight incline over a bridge with a waiting photographer to capture us in all our glory.. still having knee problems so I walked all the hills yet again on all three uneventful laps of the course.. friendly marshals and competitors again today and a very relaxed atmosphere on this hot sunny day. A field full of deer chasing each other round at one point and the local villagers all out supporting the crowd in the picturesque setting of the village before turning into the finishing straight back on the field.
Race over in a flash ... no hiccups, not much pain except for the multitude of different running surfaces we had to endure along the way.
